Test! BLT Salad

Please note: We are testing this recipe. Ingredient proportions, yield and Dressing are still being adjusted.

BLT Salad ingredients
Estimated to Make about 4 servings
1 to 2 Tbsp mayonnaise Greek yogurt
1 tsp vinegar red (or white) wine vinegar
1/8 tsp seafood seasoning (see Notes below)

1/2 baguette (8-oz), sliced into 3/4-inch cubes, about 4 cups
2 Tbsp olive oil
Ground black pepper
Coarse salt

1/4 head iceberg or romaine lettuce
2 large tomatoes or 16 cherry tomatoes
8 slices bacon (8.0-oz total)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese mozzarella cheese

Add one fresh avocado, halved, seeded, peeled and diced.

For part of the tomatoes, add chopped Bloody Mary Roasted Tomatoes.

Substitute 1/2 cup pre-packaged bacon crumbles for the bacon slices.

Substitute Girard's Original French Dressing, lime vinaigrette or buttermilk dressing.

BLT Salad Directions
Get ready
Assemble all ingredients and equipment. Wash and dry thoroughly all produce. Gently pat lettuce leaves dry with additional paper towels before crisping lettuce in the refrigerator.

Then, preheat oven to 375°F.

Cook bacon
Fry or bake bacon, according to personal preferences. Drain and crumble.

Make croutons
Toss bread cubes with oil. Season with salt and pepper. Spread evenly on a baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, tossing halfway through, about fifteen to twenty (15 to 20) minutes.

Prepare Dressing
Meanwhile, and in a large serving bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, vinegar and seafood seasoning. Set aside.

Assemble and serve
Tear lettuce into bite-size pieces. Cut large tomatoes into wedges (or halve the cherry tomatoes).

To the Dressing, add lettuce, tomatoes, bacon crumbles, mozzarella and croutons. Then, toss well to coat with Dressing. Serve immediately.
