Butterscotch Apple Pecan Crisp ingredients (8)

2.5-lbs. fresh apples, peeled and chopped
1 (12-oz). pkg. butterscotch morsels
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Crumble Topping
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 cup pecans, chopped
3/4 cup quick oats

Butterscotch Apple Pecan Crisp directions
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Place apples in a 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan. 

In a medium bowl, combine butterscotch morsels, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples. Bake in preheated oven for twenty (20) minutes.

While the crisp is baking, and in a medium bowl, combine flour and brown sugar. Then, cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in pecans and oats; sprinkle over apple mixture and return to oven to bake until apples are tender, about thirty to forty (30 - 40) minutes more.

Fresh Apple Cakes (recipe roundup)

Fresh Apple Cake ingredients (11)
Makes 8 to 10 servings
2 cups sugar
1 cup salad oil
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups apple, diced, unpeeled or peeled
2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 cup chopped nuts

Get ready
Assemble ingredients. Preheat oven to 325ºF.

Grease and lightly flour an 8- x 8-inch square (or a loaf) pan; set aside.


Prepare cake
In a large bowl, combine the sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla; add diced apples. Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon and salt; add to apple mixture and mix thoroughly. This batter is thick. Add nuts and mix again.

Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake in preheated 325ºF oven for ninety (90) minutes.Test cake for doneness with a toothpick. Run knife around edge to loosen and remove from pan to cool.

Fresh Apple Cake with Vanilla Sauce ingredients (11)
Makes two (9-inch) cakes at about 8 to 10 servings each
Cake
3 cups peeled and chopped apples
2 cups sugar
1 cup melted butter or oil
3 eggs
2 cups self-rising flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup raisins
1 tsp vanilla

Vanilla Sauce
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla


Notes:  The original recipe does not state whether the Vanilla Sauce is served separately, or poured over the Fresh Apple Cake to seep through, perhaps aided by inserting a toothpick or knife into the cake in various places.


Fresh Apple Cake with Vanilla Sauce directions
Get ready
Assemble ingredients.

In a large bowl, place the apples and toss with the sugar; let stand ten (10) minutes.

Preheat oven to 350ºF.


Prepare cake
To the apples, add the butter (or oil) and eggs, stirring until well mixed.

Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the apple mixture. Gently stir in the nuts, raisins and vanilla. Pour into two 8- or 9-inch pans and bake in preheated oven for fifty-five (55) minutes.

Serve with Vanilla Sauce (below).


Prepare Vanilla Sauce
Bring sugar, butter and evaporated milk to boil over Medium gas flame, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Spoon over cake.

New York Nobby Apple Cake ingredients (12)
Makes one (8-inch) cake or about 8 to 10 servings
Cake
3 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 cup flour, sifted
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups diced, pared apples
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp vanilla

For serving
Whipped cream or
Ice cream

Get ready
Assemble ingredients. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease an 8- x 8-inch square pan; set aside.


Prepare batter
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Set aside

Sift together dry ingredients (flour through salt). Add to batter and mix well.

Stir in remaining ingredients and pour into prepared pan.


Bake and serve
Bake in pregeated oven until cake is done, about forty to forty-five (40 - 45) minutes.

Serve warm or cool with whipped crea, or ice cream.
