Savannah Red Rice | Southern Living

Savannah Red Rice ingredients
Makes 4 to 6 servings
5 slices bacon
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
1 (16-oz) can chopped whole tomatoes, undrained
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp red pepper
1/8 tsp hot sauce

Notes:

Directions
In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon, reserving drippings; crumble and set aside. Add onion, celery and green pepper to drippings; sauté until vegetables are tender. Stir in rice and remaining ingredients; spoon into a lightly greased 1.5-quart baking dish. Cover and bake at 350ºF for 25 minutes, or until rice is tender, stirring after 15 minutes.
