Baked Cheese Grits ingredients (8)
Makes 8 servings1.5 cups grits
6 cups water
2.5 tsp salt
1 stick butter
1/4 tsp cayenne
3 eggs, beaten
1-lb sharp cheddar cheese, grated, divided use
1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Baked Cheese Grits DirectionsGet ready
Assemble all ingredients and equipment. Preheat oven to 350°F.
Butter a 2.5-quart baking dish and set aside.
Add grits to boiling salted water, and cook according to package directions.
Then, add butter, cayenne, eggs, and 14-ozs of the cheese; mix well.
Bake and serve warm
Pour mixture into baking dish; top with remaining 2-ozs of cheese.
Bake in center of preheated oven until the casserole is lightly browned and set in the center, about one (1) hour and fifteen (15) minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
