Jenna's Basil Butter Garlic Bread | Tasty Kitchen

A great use for the bounty of fresh basil and parsley in your garden!

Jenna's Basil Butter Garlic Bread ingredients
aka 'Swamp Monster Bread'
Makes 6 servings
2- oz butter
2 Tbsp olive oil
Handful fresh basil leaves
Parsley (1/3 the amount of basil)
2 garlic cloves
1 green onion
Salt and pepper
1 loaf of Ciabatta or French bread
1-2 cups shredded Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 400ºF.

Combine first six ingredients in a food processor; process until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

Cut the loaf of bread lengthwise; spread each half with the basil butter.

Put the halves together and wrap together in aluminum foil. Bake at 400ºF for 10 minutes.

Remove the bread, separate the halves and generously spread Parmesan cheese on top.

Return bread halves (side by side) to oven and either increase heat to 500ºF, or use the broiler.  Cook until cheese is melted, bubbly, and starting to get brown.
