Almond Liqueur | The Southern Living Cookbook (1987 Edition)

This homemade liqueur tastes amazingly like the bottled brands when stirred into recipes for beverages and desserts. ~The Foods Staff of Southern Living Magazine 
Almond Liqueur ingredients
Yield about 6-1/2 cups 
3 cups sugar
2-1/4 cups water
Finely grated rind of 3 lemons
1 quart vodka
3 Tbsp almond extract
2 Tbsp vanilla extract

Notes:

Directions
Combine first 3 ingredients in a Dutch oven; bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally; cool completely.

Stir in remaining ingredients; store in airtight containers.
