Peppy Artichoke Spread | BHG: Anytime Appetizers

Skip any last-minute hassle by making this artichoke spread in advance. Freeze the spread in a covered 1-quart container. When ready to serve, let it thaw at room temperature or use your microwave to speed up the defrosting. Place the spread in a 1-quart microwave-safe dish and defrost, uncovered, on 30% power (Low) for twenty (20) minutes. Heat as directed below. ~Better Homes and Gardens


Peppy Artichoke Spread ingredients
Makes about 2.5 cups
1 (14-oz) can artichoke hearts, drained
1 (6-oz) jar marinated artichoke hearts, drained
1 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese (4-oz)
1 (4-oz) can diced green chili peppers, drained

For serving
Party Rye or 

Pumpernickel bread

Place drained artichoke hearts in a blender container or food processor bowl. Cover and process until finely chopped, stopping machine to scrape down sides as necessary.

Transfer artichokes to a medium saucepan. Stir in cheese and chili peppers. Cook and stir over Medium-Low heat until heated through and cheese is melted, about twelve to fifteen (12 to 15) minutes.

Serve warm with rye or pumpernickel bread.
