Traditional Chex Party Mix

This recipe increases seasonings in the 1980 Ralston Purina Company recipe, from teaspoons to Tablespoons.

Traditional Chex Party Mix ingredients
Makes about 9 cups
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1-1/4 Tbs seasoned salt
4-1/2 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
2 cups Corn Chex Cereal
2 cups Rice Corn Chex Cereal
2 cups Bran Chex Cereal
2 cups Wheat Chex Cereal
1 cup salted mixed nuts (or pretzels)


Preheat oven to 250ºF.

Heat butter in large shallow roasting pan (about 15 x 10 x 2-inches) in oven until melted. Remove and stir in seasoned salt and Worcestershire Sauce.

Add Chex Cereals and nuts (or pretzels). Mix until all pieces are coated. Heat in oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

Spread on paper towels to cool.

Freeze, or store in a tightly covered container. If frozen, thaw at room temperature in the container in which it was frozen.
