Bachelor's Cobbler

Fay's Bachelor's Cobbler ingredients
1 stick margarine
1.75 cups sugar (divided use)
2.5 to 3 cups fruit or berries (fresh peaches work the best)
1 cup flour
1.5 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup milk


Fay's Bachelor 's Cobbler directions
Preheat oven to 325ºF.

Melt margarine in large loaf pan you will use to make the cobbler; set aside.

Mix one (1) cup of the sugar with the fresh fruit and set aside.

Mix together the remaining 0.75 (3/4) cup sugar, the flour, baking powder, and milk. Pour this mixture over the melted margarine in the pan. Do not stir.

Pour the fruit mixture over the batter. Do not stir.

Bake in pre-heated 325ºF oven until golden brown on top, about one (1) hour.

Serve warm with ice cream.
